The Comedy Duo Are Set to Reprise Their Roles for the 2024 Celebration of TV Talent

Comedians Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett will once again take the stage as hosts of the upcoming Bafta TV Awards this spring. The pair, best known for their comedic chemistry in Rob And Romesh Vs, will present the event at London’s Royal Festival Hall on May 12.

Beckett, 38, shared his excitement for the return, saying, “We’re both thrilled to be back hosting the Baftas. It’ll be great to catch up, as we haven’t seen or spoken to each other since last year’s show. Hosting together is always a privilege, even though our ‘friendship’ is entirely fabricated for the cameras!” He jokingly added, “My teeth are actually not that big, I wear false ones just so I can joke about them. And Romesh? He’s not even Asian, he just pretends to be to do his mum’s accent!”

Ranganathan, 45, had his own humorous take, “I thought I’d done enough last year to host solo this time, but I guess hosting with Rob again is a big deal… I suppose.”

The 47 categories for both the Bafta TV Awards and the Bafta TV Craft Awards will be announced on March 20. These awards will celebrate both the on-screen talent and behind-the-scenes achievements of British television.

Emma Baehr, Bafta’s executive director of awards and content, praised the duo’s performance last year, saying, “Rob and Romesh were outstanding as hosts, securing their place as one of the nation’s favourite comedy duos. We’re delighted to have them return to celebrate the best of British TV this May.”

Ranganathan, who hails from Crawley, is recognised for his TV comedy series The Ranganation and his hosting role at Red Nose Day. Beckett, a London-born stand-up comedian, is also known for his appearances on panel shows like 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, as well as his role as narrator for Celebs Go Dating and his co-hosting of the Parenting Hell podcast alongside Josh Widdicombe.
