The Prince of Wales will visit the Isles of Scilly and Newquay for engagements in May

Prince William, the Prince of Wales, will make his first official visit to the Isles of Scilly since becoming the Duke of Cornwall in 2022. The visit is scheduled for Friday, May 10, following engagements in Newquay on Thursday, May 9.

In Newquay, William will visit the site where the Duchy of Cornwall’s first homelessness housing project will be constructed in Nansleden. The project, developed in collaboration with the Cornish charity St Petrocs, aims to provide 24 homes with integrated support services for the homeless. William will meet with the development’s leaders, including Henry Meacock, the CEO of St Petrocs, and hear about the progress of the initiative, which is set to begin construction in September. The land for the housing is provided by the Duchy of Cornwall.

On Thursday afternoon, William will head to Fistral Beach to meet with local organisations dedicated to maintaining the area.

On Friday, he will travel to the Isles of Scilly, where he will visit St Mary’s Harbour, which is operated by the Duchy and serves as a key hub for passenger and vessel traffic. Afterward, he will visit St Mary’s Community Hospital, which provides vital healthcare services to the island’s residents and visitors, including inpatient and outpatient care. The Duchy is working with the local council to develop a new integrated health and social care facility adjacent to the hospital. During his visit, William will meet hospital staff and learn about the unique challenges of providing healthcare on the island.
