Teen Rapper Clarifies False Reports of Her Death Amid Online Misinformation

Lil Tay, the 14-year-old internet sensation, has confirmed that she and her older brother are alive following a shocking Instagram post that falsely announced their deaths. The post, which claimed that the child rapper and her brother Jason had tragically passed away, has since been revealed to be the result of her Instagram account being hacked.

In a statement to TMZ, Lil Tay, whose real name is Tay Tian, addressed the confusion, stating, “I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken.” She described the past 24 hours as traumatising, as she received countless phone calls from loved ones while trying to resolve the situation. The statement that had been posted on her Instagram had mistakenly identified her as “Claire Hope,” which she clarified was incorrect.

The alarming post initially shared on Lil Tay’s Instagram read: “It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing.” It further claimed that her brother, Jason Tian, had also died. However, despite the serious nature of these claims, neither the rapper’s family nor local authorities were able to confirm the details.

Lil Tay, who first gained fame as the “youngest flexer of the century” at just nine years old, had been known for her provocative social media posts showcasing a luxurious lifestyle. Her rise to fame in 2018 saw her accumulate millions of followers, but her career also faced challenges, including allegations of family pressure and management controversies.

This incident only adds to the ongoing saga of Lil Tay’s career, which has been marked by several dramatic and confusing events. Despite her complicated history, Lil Tay’s latest statement reassures her fans that she and her family are safe and dealing with the repercussions of a hacked account.
