Company Partners with Bubble to Offer 15 Hours of Free Care and Educational Courses
Deliveroo has announced a new initiative to offer free childcare and educational opportunities for its riders, in partnership with childcare app Bubble. As part of the initiative, 1,000 riders will be eligible for 15 hours of free childcare.
The decision follows a survey conducted among Deliveroo riders in the UK and Ireland, which revealed that many of those with caring responsibilities, particularly for children, would find additional support highly beneficial.
Ari Last, CEO of Bubble, expressed pride in the collaboration, emphasising the importance of providing flexible work arrangements alongside essential care services. “This partnership will help riders work more efficiently and flexibly, improving their overall wellbeing and fulfilment,” Last said.
Alongside childcare, Deliveroo has also teamed up with Lynx Educate to offer a variety of educational courses, including business management, coding, project management, and photography, helping riders enhance their skills and career prospects.
Camilla Kater from Deliveroo noted, “This new childcare initiative gives riders the flexibility to work when they want while taking advantage of educational opportunities to upskill and plan for their future.”
Tom Warnett, from the GMB union, welcomed the initiative, recognising its importance for riders. He added, “While this is a positive step, we continue to work towards ensuring fair pay and long-term career prospects in the sector.”
