The filming of It Ends With Us, the romantic drama featuring Blake Lively, has been temporarily halted due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike. The movie, which is based on Colleen Hoover’s popular novel, had already begun production before the strike forced a pause.

According to reports from Deadline, Wayfarer Studios and director Justin Baldoni informed the cast through an email, explaining that the delay was caused by the days lost due to the strike’s picketing actions. The note expressed appreciation for the cast’s patience during this challenging time.

Since the WGA strike began on May 2, more than 11,500 members have been participating, primarily advocating for better compensation related to streaming royalties. This labour action has severely impacted the entertainment industry, causing significant delays to multiple TV shows and films, and even disrupting major awards events like the MTV Movie and TV Awards.

Despite the production halt, filming on It Ends With Us is expected to resume once the strike ends. Meanwhile, Lively, who recently gave birth to her fourth child with actor Ryan Reynolds, is taking a break from her filming commitments. The couple, already parents to three daughters—James, Inez, and Betty—has now added a newborn to their growing family.
